Part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area is a place named Harmony. True to its name, this place is an award-winning master planned community and was chosen to be the site of the Dark Sky Festival. This event marked as its 6TH Annual Celebration showcasing the importance of protecting dark skies and educating the public how darkness provides to area wildlife. This big event will be happening on April 25, 2009 at Harmony, Florida. The activities will be held outdoors in a low light conditions with in Harmony Town Square vicinity. If you live in Osceola County, you might as well come and join this exciting event. Star gazing is fun so, bring your family and friends and enjoy the evening with the music of Jonn Sierre . Just make yourself comfortable by bringing a blanket or chair for your own use. This activity is a public awareness campaign about Light Pollution that causes damage to our Environment. Any artificial light including sky glow, glare, light trespass and light clutter would decreased visibility at night. Because of these artificial lights, our ecosystem is disrupted. If you live in the city, have your share of contribution to fight light pollution by utilizing light sources at minimum intensity just necessary to accomplish the light's purpose in your household. That is not much but certainly would make a difference.
