Elks Mardi Gras Parade: Floats

Here are the beautiful floats that participated during the Elks Mardi Gras Parade 2010 held in Ocean Springs Mississippi. The beads were abundance last year though, I just noticed that.
The weather on this day was below freezing plus the wind is blowing so hard. Even though my sis-in-law gave me a fleece blanket, I am still freezing. I wore gloves, boots, three jackets...ohh, still I am freezing. Well, everyone in the parade were wrapped up but, catching the beads warms us up.
The crowd was very enthusiastic screaming for beads. I am better this year, I meant ... screaming for beads, LOL!
Back home when we have city parades, what they gave to the crowd are candies and discount coupons. I do not remember, any beads were given away.
So, this is unique here in the US for sure. In Orlando, there was an orange parade and they gave away beads too. So, its not unique to Mardi Gras but, for every parade... just an observation though. I might be wrong.
Check out some of the Mardi Gras pictures that I will be post here soon. Thanks for viewing.
