This is Divine Mercy Catholic Church located in 1940 North Courtenay Parkway in Merritt Island, Florida which is less than 8 miles away from our place. The humble beginnings of this church can be traced back in 1964 with Fr. Sean P. Molloy as the first pastor when the Divine Mercy Catholic Church became a recognized parish. The church started at the “Barn Theater” while the Divine Mercy School started at the warehouse at Merritt Island Airport with 185 students. This church was constructed in 1975.The picture above is the Dome or the social hall. Divine Mercy property has the parish administration building, Mercy Center, rectory, and school library. They also have a computer lab, science lab and conference room.On Sundays, Divine Mercy Catholic Church has three masses but on weekdays, they have one scheduled mass. They have variations of activities for the parishioners. I am just happy because I saw two big churches nearby our new home. I will definitely volunteer some of my free time maybe, in the choir perhaps. If you happen to be around in Port Canaveral, Cocoa area or Merritt Island, check out this place.
